LONGRIDGE WATER ACTIVITY WEEKEND 20th–22nd JUNE 2008
We are pleased to announce that this years water activity weekend will be at Longridge Boating Centre giving scouts the opportunity to have loads of fun taking part in Canoeing, Sailing, Raft building, Kayaking and Dragon Boating. All activities are run by the Centre’s qualified staff.
Previous weekends we have organised at Longridge have been hugely enjoyable, so come on “me hearties” – get your place booked! This camp is over two nights under canvas from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon. Cost to all sailors £40 to include activities, food and camping fees.
The only stipulation is that you must be able to swim at least 50 metres, tread water fully clothed and be ready to wash up.
Longridge is located near Marlow on the River Thames which is approximately a 1 hour drive. We will have to ask parents to drop and collect their children so why not stay and join in, or arrange car share.
Scouts who will have moved to Explorers before this date will be most welcome to join us, as will boys who are joining us from the Cub section before this date.
Therefore as we need to confirm the troop’s place with a deposit we ask that you confirm your place by registering on the website and then supply us with a deposit of £ 20.00. Cheques made payable to 1st Linslade Scouts.
Parents (CRB Checked by scout association) are most welcome to come along and join in. We only ask that they must be prepared to be splashed all weekend. Cost £40.
Additionally, we will as always need a catering crew to feed the little Angels so volunteers most welcome. No charge for chefs.
