Scouts survive camp

27 Scouts survived the legendary “Survival Camp” at Studham.

New Dutch Ovens were well used

Our new Dutch ovens were well used. All Scouts coooked all their food for the whole weekend on open fires. Accommodation was in two tipees…. (and a large ten man standard boring tent!)

Scouts learned about safe and correct use of axes and saws, knots and lashings and lots of new cooking skills.

Our second Tipee, provided by Southcott Village Residents Association, had its first outing. SVRA donated £750 earlier this year to purchase this fantastic experience for our young people.

Martin built a fine washing up station which was well used!  Martin's Washing-up StationA good hike was enjoyed on Saturday afternoon, to the local village of Kensworth, and some used the on site adventure trail. Trevor lead a rousing campfire on Saturday evening with all his favourite songs. All were tired, especially after their early rising at 5.00am that morning (which didn’t impress the leaders!). Not so early up on Sunday!!

Another successful camp…….
